Estilo de enseñanza:

As a language learner myself, I know that immersion is the best way to acquire a new language. While it's up to the student to extend that immersion beyond the classroom, I like to pack as many enjoyable, immersive experiences into the class as possible. My philosophy is that if you're enjoying learning, it will not only stick in your brain more firmly, but you might not even realize how many new grammar structures or vocabulary words you learned. What seemed like just an enjoyable conversation was actually a lesson in secret! I also post all of the notes I take during class (corrected mistakes, new vocabulary, etc) on Padlet after the class, so that you can review anything we talked about at your leisure.

Acerca de mí

I am a 34-year-old American, and grew up in Sacramento, California. I went to University of Hawaii at Manoa and majored in linguistics, with one year of study abroad in Tokyo, Japan. Since graduating, I have lived and worked in five countries, and traveled to many more (on a budget, of course!). My favorite hobby is scuba diving, but I enjoy any activity in nature, although I prefer to live in big cities. I enjoy learning new languages and cultures, and am currently learning Spanish in preparation for moving to Mexico City very soon. It is interesting to see how our native language shapes our thinking and acquisition of a new language. I'm excited to take the learning journey alongside you!
